This bracelet from BVLGARI is a breathtaking sight. With a width of 3 cm and a weight of more than 124 grams, it is an opulent eye-catcher and yet wraps seductively softly around the wrist. This luxurious piece of jewellery is an impressive example of the signature Tubogas technique, which is one of the brand's most iconic design features. Crafted from high-carat yellow gold, it embodies the powerful yet supple design language for which Bulgari has been particularly appreciated since the second half of the 20th century. The Tubogas technique - whose name is derived from the Italian term for "gas pipe" - is based on a sophisticated winding construction of gold bands that interlock without visible solder joints. The result is a flexible yet stable braid that elegantly hugs the wrist and impresses with its even, taut surface. Although the origins of this technique date back to the 19th century, it really blossomed at Bulgari from the late 1940s and especially in the 1970s and 1980s. During this period, the Tubogas style developed into a trademark of the house, combining the industrial aesthetics of modern materials with the opulence of classic gold jewelry. Wide, single-row bracelets such as this one are comparatively rare and testify to a particularly high technical standard as well as a distinct understanding of proportion and wearing comfort. The hallmark "BVLGARI 2337 AL" refers to the brand as well as to the Italian origin and the registered production workshop in the province of Alessandria, a center of Italian goldsmithing. It also stands for the strict legal regulations of Italian precious metal processing, which have guaranteed a clear assignment of manufacturer and material since 1968. Bulgari itself was founded in Rome in 1884 by the Greek-born silversmith Sotirio Bulgari and developed into one of the most important international luxury goods houses over the course of the 20th century. The combination of classical antique reception, Italian sensuality and modern design language is still characteristic today. Particularly in the post-war period, Bulgari succeeded in securing an unmistakable position in international jewellery design with innovative designs such as the Tubogas jewellery, the Serpenti motifs or the striking use of colored stones. The bracelet presented here is thus exemplary of the phase in which Bulgari combined technical sophistication, material value and clarity of design to create an independent, timeless aesthetic - a piece of jewellery that not only impresses with its quality, but also with its cultural and historical classification.
