Stunning Platinum Ring with Amethyst, Emeralds & Diamonds by BVLGARI

In the late 20th century, few jewelers understood how to use colour as an expression of luxury as masterfully as BVLGARI in Rome. Since the 1980s, the workshops on Via dei Condotti have produced designs of extraordinary presence, whose impact stemmed from the powerful presentation of precious colored gemstones. This platinum ring is a striking testament to this design philosophy. At its center is a natural amethyst in an elegant navette cut, weighing approximately four carats. Its deep violet colour possesses remarkable intensity and is reminiscent of those Siberian amethysts that have been prized since the 19th century for their particularly rich shades of purple. The elongated shape defines the silhouette of the ring face. The amethyst is encircled by a faceted band of 27 natural emeralds in square and trapezoid cuts. The green gemstones form a luminous frame whose clean geometry illustrates the signature Bulgari style of those years: intense color contrasts, expressive lines, and perfect symmetry. On the sides of the ring’s shoulders, two pear-shaped diamonds and four navette-cut diamonds enhance the design. All stones are set in cool, lustrous platinum. The ring thus showcases one of the most iconic colour combinations in jewelry history: violet, green, and white were already the colours of the suffragette movement in Great Britain at the beginning of the 20th century. Perhaps this ring was designed as a tribute to those feisty women.
