Strongbox - Iron

J. Caminada Amsterdam – Antique fireproof money safe / strongroom safe with original keys – circa 1900 Very fine and exceptionally heavy fireproof money safe from J. Caminada Amsterdam, a well-known Dutch manufacturer of safes, fireproof safes and money boxes from the late 19th and early 20th century. This imposing money safe is made of solid iron and equipped with a fireproof inner construction. On the lid there is the original factory plate with the inscription "J. Caminada, Kloveniersburgwal 58, Amsterdam", which clearly documents the origin of this piece. The money safe is provided with the original keys and a working locking mechanism. The lid closes firmly and on the inside has a solid locking system. On both sides there are heavy recessed carrying handles. The front is richly finished with a decorative cast-iron ornament in neo-Renaissance style, which makes this safe not only functional but also particularly decorative.
