Vintage Danish Sterling Silver Cherry Heering Cherry Brooch – Mid-Century Design – ca. 1960–1968 Special vintage Danish brooch in sterling silver, executed as an elegant cherry on a curved stem with two nicely sculpted leaves. The bulb-shaped cherry is smoothly polished and forms a nice contrast with the detailed veins and the more matte texture of the leaves. This type of cherry motif is commercially associated with the famous Danish cherry liqueur Cherry Heering. Of particular interest is that there are documented sterling-silver Cherry Heering jewelry pieces made by Georg Jensen. Around 1968 Cherry Heering celebrated its 150th anniversary, for which silver promotional jewelry was also produced. This brooch is clearly marked with “STERLING”. A Georg Jensen master mark, however, was not found on this example. For that reason the brooch is carefully offered as Danish/Scandinavian sterling silver with Cherry Heering association, without a definitive attribution to Georg Jensen. The back is equipped with a hinged pin with a well-working roll clasp, making the brooch immediately wearable.
