Fine edition of this classic of French literature illustrated by Henry Lemarié with 54 compositions, including 3 frontispieces and 51 large in-text illustrations, colorized by Maurice Beaufumé and Gabriel Couet. One of 132 copies on Rives vélin paper featuring a black state with notes on the illustrations and a color proof on silk of the frontispiece (continuation of the second volume missing).
