Exceptional and Rare Vintage Steiff Plush – Mandrill / Colobus Monkey “Mungo” – With Original Chest Label and Eulan Label – about 27.5 cm tall Magnificent and particularly sought-after by collectors, this antique plush from prestigious Steiff represents the rare model of the monkey “Mungo.” Crafted with great artistic care, this specimen features a highly characteristic head with painted, colorful markings (blue tones around the eyes, yellow whiskers, delicate snout), large expressive blue glass eyes, and a long striped tail along with a Mohair/Textile plush body of excellent quality. The piece carries its two precious original labels: - The emblematic round Steiff chest label printed “Mungo” with the yellow bear head. - The rare blue circular label “Eulan - Bayer Leverkusen” guaranteeing the anti-moth treatment of the era.
