Stanwell Pipe Of The Year - 1984 - Pipe - Briar

Stanwell Pipe POY 1984 (Pipe of the Year) – Special Collector's Edition (Made in Denmark) For sale a splendid and rare Stanwell "Pipe of the Year" (POY) from the year 1984, a true piece of Danish manufacturing history. This vintage model was entirely produced in the historic original Borup factory in Denmark, well before the production transfer that occurred in 2010, making it a highly collectible piece. The pipe is in good structural condition, intact and fully functional. It features the classic oval-shank Billiard shape and a high-quality, very defined sandblasted finish. On the shank is mounted the original sterling silver plate bearing the inscription "Stanwell 1984". The mouthpiece is original vulcanite and bears the famous crowned "S" logo. The mouthpiece shows the typical natural light surface oxidation of era-ebonite, a sign of age that confirms authenticity and that can be easily polished to restore the original shiny black finish.
