Spirou (magazine) Recueil N°2 - 1 Album - First edition - 1938

Rare antique item and old issue no. 2 of Journal de Spirou, published in 1938 by Dupuis, Charleroi. This historical collection gathers numbers 20 to 37 from the very first year of publication of the journal, with its magnificent cover illustrated by Rob-Vel, creator of Spirou. Very beautiful collectible specimen for its era, preserving its original cover, its color illustrations still well preserved and its cloth-backed spine. The whole presents a nice overall condition and bears witness to the very early years of Franco-Belgian comics. Some defects related to its age should be noted: traces of time and foxing on the cover, interior opening marked at the level of the first page, as well as one or two small tears on interior pages. These imperfections remain localized and do not take away from the historical charm of this collection (protected by a plastic sleeve that can be easily removed). One of the very first Spirou albums, now difficult to find in good condition. A particularly interesting collectible for Spirou enthusiasts, Rob-Vel fans, and early Dupuis publications. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow a precise appreciation of the condition of this album.
