Spelende Cherubijnen / Putti's - Baluster vase (2)...

A stunning and rare pair of antique, mouth-blown vases made of creamy opaline glass. The vases date from the period 1890–1910 (Belle Époque) and are in beautiful authentic condition. Neoclassical (Louis XVI / Empire style). Fully hand-painted with a romantic scene of playing putti (angels / cherubs) in a pastoral landscape, finely finished with gilt ornaments and floral details. Authentic craftsmanship, clearly recognizable by the rough pontil marks (pontil break) on the underside of the vases. The foot is elegantly finished with a contrasting red base. Height: 21 cm.
