Title: Costumbrista scene on the coast at sunset / Fishermen’s boats and peasants on the riverside. Spanish School; Corresponds to a landscape/genre painter active in the late 19th century Support and Conservation: Oil on panel. The support shows craquelure typical of natural aging of the paint layer over the panel and wooden frame. The signature is drawn in the lower right corner, directly on the final pictorial layer. Style: Romantic Costumbrismo / Landscape painting influenced by Neoclassical-Romantic late style. The work uses a classical framing with trees on the sides acting as natural frames or stretchers, with a bright horizon at sunset and figures in rural/maritime attire.
