Silver Ducaton 1649, Antwerp Mint - Mintmark Hand - Delmonte 284 / GH 327-1b - Very Fine Een klassieke en begerenswaardige grote zilveren handelsmunt van het Hertogdom Brabant / Spaanse Nederlanden: een officiële Dukaton (60 Stuivers / Patards) geslagen onder koning Filips IV van Spanje (1621–1665) in het jaartal 1649 te Antwerpen. Dit type kenmerkt zich door het verfijnde borstbeeld met de brede platte kraag (buste avec mince collet) en draagt bovenaan het befaamde Antwerpse muntteken handje. Geslagen op het hoge officiële gehalte van 0,944 fijn zilver met een wettelijk normgewicht van 32,78 gram. Dukatons geslagen vlak na het sluiten van de Vrede van Munster (1648) zijn erg populair onder internationale verzamelaars van de Tachtigjarige Oorlog en de Zuidelijke Nederlanden. Ontwerp & Iconografie: * Voorzijde: Geharnast borstbeeld van koning Filips IV naar rechts met platte kraag. Omschrift: PHIL. IIII. D. G. HISP. ET. INDIAR. REX voorafgegaan door het muntteken handje en het jaartal 1649. * Keerzijde: Het gekroonde koninklijke wapen van Spanje, gehouden door twee klimmende leeuwen; onderaan hangt het kleinood van de Orde van het Gulden Vlies (Toison d'Or). This issue features the refined cuirassed bust wearing a flat collar (buste avec mince collet) and bears the iconic hand mintmark of Antwerp above.
