Silver, 'Handwork' Art Deco, Lelies van Dalen - Brooch

Beautiful hand-forged silver Art Deco style brooch with 3 Lily of the Valley (French translation: Muguets). Marked: Handarbeit and 925. The 3 lilies are of brushed silver! N.B. Lily of the valley symbolises happiness, purity, love, delicacy and sincerity. The flowers are exchanged in France and Belgium with the spring festivities on May 1st ( "La fête du Muguet") as a lucky charm. The tradition goes back to 1561, when King Charles IX received a bouquet of flowers and decided to share the luck by annually offering it to ladies at his court. Very good condition - a bit used with small signs of wear. Gorgeous piece! Brooch length: 8.2 cm. Greatest width: 2.15 cm. Weight: 5.75 grams. See the last photo showing the scale with a 1 euro coin. Read the auction information in full and view the photos (which form an essential part of the description) carefully before you bid! This is an antique piece and may therefore show signs of use commensurate with the age of the jewelry. Buyers outside the EU will have to pay VAT above a certain purchase amount! Please inform yourself about this before bidding! Will be well packaged and sent by registered mail!
