Three volume set. 26 x 16.5 cm. Octavo. Vol 1: xxxvii 408pp, vol 2: 472pp, vol 3: 72, 36 30pp. Signed full leather binding by Zaehnsdorf. Full green leather binding with gilt lettering and fish designs. Illustrated with over 400 woodcuts. Volume 3 is the supplementary volume, two parts bound as one, and was done in 1839-1840. The second part of the supplement was edited by Sir John Richardson after Yarrell's death. It has a frontispiece engraving of the author done by A. Heath. TEG. Spines are a bit toned to black.Hinges rubbed on volume 1 & 3 and feel a bit tender but are holding. Top right corner of volume 2 is bumped and there is a bump/scuff to top edge gilt. The spine of volume two has been professionally rebacked. "Indispensable in every English angler's library as a work of reference. Yarrel was, besides, an angler and his work contains many useful hints in connection with the sport" (Westwood and Satchell pg 243-244). Hand Y2.
