Antique enameled advertising sign Württembergische Feuerversicherung AG Stuttgart – circa 1935–1945 An impressive, large, authentically looking enameled advertising and insurance sign from Württembergische Feuerversicherung AG in Stuttgart, executed in the distinctive deep blue with striking orange and white lettering. Centrally is the elegant text “Württembergische Feuerversicherung AG. in Stuttgart”, below that “SEIT 1828” and the bold advertising slogan “Versicherungen jeder Art”. At the top is the historical emblem with the stylized W, the roof and the flame. The note “Seit 1828” refers to the actual founding of the company. In 1828 the enterprise was established as Württembergische Privat-Feuer-Versicherungs-Gesellschaft. According to current Württembergische information, this was the first private property damage insurer in southern Germany. In 1923 the organization was transformed into Württembergische Feuerversicherung Aktiengesellschaft in Stuttgart. Historical insurance signs from this company were mounted on buildings and are today interesting collectibles in the field of German advertising history and insurance history. The Wirtschaftsarchiv Baden-Württemberg even owns historical insurance signs from Württembergische Feuerversicherung in its collection. For comparable enameled Württembergische signs with almost the same blue, orange, and white styling, specialized documentation dates them to 1935–1945. Based on style, inscription, and execution, this example also fits well within this prewar/early-20th-century advertising period. An exact production date or manufacturer is not visible on the offered sign, so the dating is cautiously kept to circa the 1930s/40s. With an impressive width of 58 cm and height of 38 cm, this is also a considerably larger example than many well-known Württembergische insurance signs. For comparison: a historical example previously offered at a German auction measured 47 × 33 cm. Features: * Württembergische Feuerversicherung AG in Stuttgart * Original historical advertising/insurance sign * Enamel on metal * Inscription: “Seit 1828” * Slogan: “Versicherungen jeder Art” * Deep blue background * Orange and white typography * Historical Württembergische logo * Four mounting holes in the corners * Dimensions: circa 58 × 38 cm * Thickness: circa 1.3 cm * Dating: presumably circa 1930s/40s Condition: The sign is in beautiful, authentic used condition with signs of aging and use. On the front there are locally some scratches, superficial wear, and small damage visible. Around the mounting points and edges there is also aging wear. The back shows oxidation, patina, and usage traces typical for an old metal enamel sign. This non-restored appearance gives the sign a lot of character. See the extensive close-up photos for a good impression of the condition. A wonderful piece of German advertising history with a particularly decorative appearance. Due to its substantial size, classic typography, and strong combination of dark blue, orange, and white, it is a real eye-catcher for collectors of old enamel signs, advertising objects, insurance memorabilia, or industrial heritage. Measurements Width 58 cm Height 38 cm Depth 1.3 cm Photos provide a clear view of the quality and are part of the description. The interior photos were AI-generated and are intended solely to illustrate the object in a living environment. The piece is well packed and shipped with tracking. Shipping costs also cover packing materials and transport. Will only be shipped within the EU postal area. Pickup is only possible when the lot is bid up to more than €50 and, of course, by appointment during office hours. ename enamel sign, enamel sign, Württembergische, Stuttgart, Feuerversicherung, advertising sign, vintage, industrial, midcentury, collectible Württembergische Feuerversicherung, Württembergische Feuerversicherung AG Stuttgart, Württembergische Versicherung, Seit 1828, Versicherungen jeder Art, enamel advertising sign, enameled advertising sign, enamel sign, Insurance sign, Fire insurance sign, Insurance advertising, historical advertising, German advertising, German enamel, German enamel sign, German advertising sign, fire insurance sign, insurance sign, Stuttgart, Württemberg, advertising sign 1930s, advertising sign 1940s, prewar advertising sign, vintage advertising, antique advertising, advertising memorabilia, insurance memorabilia, industrial wall decor, industrial heritage, old enamel sign, advertising enamel sign, petroliana style, mancave decoration, cafe decoration, collectible.
