A premium automotive poster dedicated to the 1985 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 (930) — one of the defining high-performance sports cars of the turbocharged era. This artwork celebrates the legendary Porsche 911 Turbo in a vivid Guards Red-inspired finish, combining the unmistakable wide-body 930 silhouette with a carefully structured technical presentation. The composition features a large three-quarter illustration accompanied by front, rear, side and top views, a detailed turbocharged flat-six engine study, a driver-focused cockpit illustration and clearly arranged mechanical specifications. The Original 911 Turbo Introduced during the 1970s, the 930 established the 911 Turbo as a distinct high-performance branch of the Porsche family. Its combination of turbocharged power, rear-engine architecture, dramatically widened bodywork and characteristic rear spoiler created one of the most recognizable sports-car silhouettes of its generation. By 1985, the European 911 Turbo used the established 3.3-litre turbocharged flat-six configuration, producing approximately 300 PS. Power was delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, giving the 930 a mechanical character very different from later generations of the 911 Turbo. 3.3-Litre Turbocharged Flat-Six At the rear sits a 3,299 cc air-cooled, turbocharged and intercooled flat-six engine. The horizontally opposed layout retains the fundamental architecture associated with the classic air-cooled 911 while forced induction dramatically increases its performance. Producing approximately 300 PS (221 kW) in European specification, the 3.3-litre engine transformed the 930 into one of Porsche's defining performance cars of the period. The detailed engine illustration positioned at the bottom of the artwork highlights the cooling fan, intake system, turbo-related components and densely packaged rear-engine layout. Distinctive 930 Design The 930 is immediately recognizable by its dramatically flared front and rear wheel arches, wide stance, black exterior trim and prominent rear spoiler. Rather than hiding its performance hardware beneath a restrained body, the Turbo visually separated itself from the contemporary naturally aspirated 911. The enlarged rear arches accommodate substantially wider rear wheels and tyres, while the rear spoiler became one of the defining visual signatures of the model. Rear-Engine, Rear-Wheel Drive The 930 retained the classic Porsche arrangement of an engine positioned behind the rear axle and power delivered exclusively to the rear wheels. Combined with turbocharged performance and the car's compact dimensions, this architecture helped create the distinctive driving character for which the original 911 Turbo became famous. Four-Speed Manual Transmission Unlike later Porsche Turbo models, the 3.3-litre 930 continued to use a robust four-speed manual gearbox during this period. Its relatively long gearing complemented the substantial power and torque produced by the turbocharged engine and remains an important part of the mechanical identity of the classic 930. Classic Porsche Cockpit The interior follows the traditional driver-focused philosophy of the air-cooled 911. The prominent instrument cluster, simple dashboard architecture, compact steering wheel and floor-mounted manual gear lever create an environment centered around driving rather than decoration. A detailed cockpit illustration in the lower-right section of the artwork captures this characteristic layout. Detailed Illustrated Composition The artwork includes: - Large three-quarter illustration of the 1985 Porsche 911 Turbo 930 - Guards Red-inspired exterior finish - Front and rear technical views - Accurate side-profile presentation - Overhead technical view - Detailed 3.3-litre turbocharged flat-six engine illustration - Period-inspired driver's cockpit - Wide Turbo bodywork and flared wheel arches - Iconic rear Turbo spoiler - Classic Fuchs-style wheel design - Engine, power, drivetrain, transmission and top-speed specifications - Vintage technical typography and archival-inspired presentation The warm ivory background, vivid red bodywork and precise monochrome technical drawings create a refined retro-industrial aesthetic. The large central illustration gives the 930 immediate visual impact, while the surrounding technical studies reveal the engineering and design details behind the legendary Turbo silhouette.
