A premium automotive technical poster dedicated to the 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Fixed Head Coupé — one of the most celebrated British sports cars of the 1960s, combining elegant aerodynamic design with advanced engineering and strong performance. This artwork presents the Jaguar E-Type in a clean factory technical-document style, combining precise front, side, rear and overhead views with dimensional references, mechanical specifications and a detailed representation of its legendary XK inline-six engine. The Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Introduced in 1961, the E-Type combined engineering developed from Jaguar’s competition experience with a dramatic road-car design characterized by an exceptionally long bonnet, compact cabin and flowing fastback body. Its combination of performance, independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and distinctive styling made the E-Type one of the defining sports cars of its era. The 1964 3.8 Fixed Head Coupé The early Series 1 Fixed Head Coupé represents the original form of the E-Type before the introduction of the larger 4.2-litre engine. By 1964, the model retained the classic 3.8-litre XK engine, four-speed manual transmission and the elegant enclosed-headlamp body design associated with the earliest E-Types. 3.8-Litre XK Inline-Six The E-Type is powered by Jaguar’s 3781 cc XK inline-six engine. The naturally aspirated, water-cooled engine features a DOHC cylinder head and triple SU carburetors, continuing an engine architecture closely associated with Jaguar’s high-performance road and competition cars. Output was rated at approximately 265 bhp gross at 5,500 rpm, with approximately 260 lb-ft of gross torque at 4,000 rpm. Four-Speed Manual Transmission Power is transmitted through a four-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels. The traditional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration is combined with sophisticated chassis engineering to create the balanced sporting character for which the E-Type became famous. Advanced Chassis Engineering The E-Type featured independent front and rear suspension at a time when many contemporary sports cars still relied on considerably simpler rear axle arrangements. Four-wheel disc brakes further contributed to its advanced specification, reflecting Jaguar’s extensive experience in high-speed competition. Technical Dimensions Wheelbase: 2438 mm Front track: 1270 mm Rear track: 1270 mm Overall length: 4455 mm Overall width: 1657 mm Overall height: 1222 mm The remarkably low height and long overall body emphasize the dramatic proportions that became fundamental to the E-Type’s identity. Performance The 3.8-litre XK inline-six produces approximately 265 bhp gross. Period performance figures vary depending on specification and testing conditions, but the E-Type was among the fastest production sports cars of its era, with performance approaching 240 km/h under favorable conditions. Detailed Technical Composition The artwork includes front and rear elevations, a true side profile, a large orthographic overhead view with exposed engine detail, dimensional measurements, engine specifications, transmission and chassis information, performance data and a period-inspired Jaguar Cars engineering inspection stamp. The warm ivory background, restrained black technical linework and structured typography recreate the appearance of an archival Jaguar engineering document while emphasizing the elegant proportions and mechanical architecture of the E-Type.
