Shmidt.Art - Ferrari - F50 BERLINETTA - 1990s

A premium automotive technical poster dedicated to the 1995 Ferrari F50 — Ferrari’s Formula 1-inspired flagship supercar and the successor to the legendary F40. This artwork presents the Ferrari F50 in a clean factory technical-document style, combining precise front, side, rear and overhead views with dimensional references, chassis details and a detailed representation of its naturally aspirated V12 powertrain. The Ferrari F50 Introduced in 1995 to celebrate Ferrari’s 50th anniversary, the F50 was conceived around a remarkably direct idea: bringing Formula 1-derived engineering to a road-going Ferrari. Unlike the turbocharged F40 before it, the F50 used a high-revving naturally aspirated V12 mounted directly to a carbon-fiber composite monocoque, creating an unusually close structural and mechanical relationship between engine, chassis and driver. The 1995 F50 The F50 combined advanced composite construction with dramatic Pininfarina-designed bodywork, a removable roof panel and a highly focused two-seat cockpit. Its proportions were dictated by the mechanical layout: a low carbon-fiber passenger cell, longitudinally mounted V12, rear transaxle and pushrod suspension arrangement. 4.7-Litre Naturally Aspirated V12 At the heart of the F50 is the F130B engine, a 4.7-litre naturally aspirated 65-degree V12. The engine features DOHC cylinder heads, five valves per cylinder and a total of 60 valves. Producing approximately 382 kW / 520 PS at 8,500 rpm and 471 Nm at 6,500 rpm, the V12 delivers its performance without turbocharging, emphasizing immediate throttle response and high engine speeds. Formula 1-Inspired Engineering The F50’s V12 architecture was heavily influenced by Ferrari’s Formula 1 experience. More importantly, the engine was not simply installed inside a conventional subframe. It formed a structural stressed member connecting the carbon-fiber monocoque with the rear transmission and suspension assembly. This engineering solution helped create the unusually direct mechanical character for which the F50 is known. Six-Speed Manual Transmission Power is transmitted through a six-speed manual transaxle to the rear wheels. The gearbox forms part of the structural rear assembly, continuing the F50’s competition-inspired approach to integrating the engine, transmission and chassis. Carbon-Fiber Composite Monocoque The central structure of the F50 is a carbon-fiber composite monocoque. This lightweight and extremely rigid construction represented advanced road-car technology for the mid-1990s and helped keep the F50’s dry weight to approximately 1230 kg. Rear Pushrod Suspension The rear suspension uses an inboard pushrod arrangement, another clear reflection of racing-car engineering. Its integration around the engine and transaxle is visible in the poster’s detailed overhead technical illustration. Technical Dimensions Wheelbase: 2580 mm Front track: 1620 mm Rear track: 1602 mm Overall length: 4480 mm Overall width: 1986 mm Overall height: 1120 mm The F50’s extremely low height, broad track and long wheelbase create the distinctive proportions of Ferrari’s mid-1990s flagship. Performance The 4.7-litre V12 produces approximately 520 PS at 8,500 rpm. Top speed is approximately 325 km/h, while acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes approximately 3.9 seconds. Combined with a dry weight of approximately 1230 kg, these figures made the F50 one of the most extreme road-going Ferraris of its era. Detailed Technical Composition The artwork includes true front and rear elevations, a large side profile and an oversized orthographic top view revealing the F50’s mechanical architecture. The overhead illustration highlights the carbon-fiber composite monocoque, longitudinal F130B V12, six-speed manual transaxle and rear pushrod inboard suspension. Dimensional measurements, engine specifications, chassis information and performance figures are arranged in a structured technical-data format, accompanied by a period-inspired Ferrari technical inspection stamp. The warm ivory background, precise black technical linework and restrained typography give the artwork the appearance of an archival engineering document while keeping the F50’s distinctive mechanical architecture at the center of the composition. Its technical-document aesthetic is particularly suited to enthusiasts of Ferrari, naturally aspirated V12 engines, Formula 1 engineering and iconic 1990s supercars. A technical celebration of one of Ferrari’s most ambitious road cars — combining a naturally aspirated V12, six-speed manual transmission, carbon-fiber monocoque and competition-derived chassis engineering in an archival-inspired presentation.
