A0000006373 Article: SHEAFFER Balance Junior fountain pen in burgundy/carmine variegated celluloid with chrome fittings, torpedo body and clip engraved with “SHEAFFER'S JR” Reference / Edition: Balance Junior (clip “SHEAFFER'S JR” and nib “SHEAFFER Junior Made in U.S.A.”) Length: 12.1 cm Diameter: 1 cm Nib: EF Period: Late 1930s – 1940s (approx. 1938-1948) Materials: Variegated burgundy/carmine celluloid with vertical striations, clip and cap band in chrome metal, cap in dark celluloid with threading, nib gold-marked “Sheaffer Junior Made in U.S.A.”, lever filler Condition: Good overall state for its age; celluloid shiny and without visible cracks or fissures, variegation well defined and cap closes correctly. There is wear from use typical of the era on the clip and cap band, with loss of shine and micro-scratches in the chrome, and light surface marks on the body.
