A monograph devoted to the graphic work of Georges Seurat, part of the “Les Carnets de Dessins” series, established and edited by Henri Scrépel. Antoine Terrasse particularly highlights Seurat’s extraordinary Conté pencil drawings, in which light seems to emerge from the very grain of the paper. Isolated figures, silhouettes, landscapes, and preparatory studies demonstrate the fundamental importance of drawing in the genesis of Neo-Impressionism.
