Septarian concretion - Fossil matrix - 39 cm - 32 cm

Impressive septarian nodule (“Septarian”) with striking, natural cracking (museum-worthy). This geological object formed millions of years ago as clay-rich sediment shrank, creating characteristic polygonal cracks that later filled with minerals. The present piece has been cut and prepared so that the typical structure is superbly visible: a network of irregular segments with contrasting coloring. The light to beige-yellow areas consist mainly of limestone matrix, while the darker lines and fillings are mineral deposits (often calcite or aragonite). The surface displays a particularly decorative, almost mosaic-like appearance, making this specimen an extraordinary collectible as well as an attractive focal point for any display cabinet or living spaces.
