A silver baluster-shaped vessel decorated with friezes of water leaves and pearls. The plain body, resting on a circular pedestal, is engraved with a coat of arms (unidentified) beneath a count’s crown. The spout ends in a lion’s head surrounded by foliage. The handle is made of blackened wood and held in place by a bearded male face. The lid is edged with a godron frieze. Hallmark: second cock, first standard, 1809–1819, and Paris hallmark. No silversmith’s mark. Height: 26 cm. Gross weight: 946 g (shows normal wear and scratches; sold as is).
