Dimensions 37mm (excluding the crown) Remarks This Seikomatic Weekdater offers a superb combination of mid-century Japanese design and high-grade mechanics. The exceptionally clean silver sunburst dial and the robust 35-jewel automatic movement make this a highly compelling addition for enthusiasts of classic Seiko watchmaking. History The Seikomatic Weekdater represents a significant era of high-end Seiko automatic watchmaking from the mid-1960s. The model is celebrated for its distinctive dual-calendar layout, which places a prominent full-day display at the six o'clock position. Powering this generation is the caliber 6218, a sophisticated 35-jewel automatic movement operating at 18,000 beats per hour and featuring a hacking function. This higher-end caliber shares a direct relationship with the Grand Seiko line of the period and utilizes Seiko's Diafix shock springs on jewels other than the balance jewels, ensuring robust performance alongside its refined architecture.
