Case and Crystal The 34 millimeter stainless steel case is fitted with a smooth integrated steel bezel. The case exhibits moderate scratches and scuffs consistent with honest vintage wear, and while the lugs retain their general shape, they show visible signs of use. An unsigned knurled crown sits at the three o'clock position, displaying moderate wear. The domed acrylic crystal presents minor surface scratches and scuffs visible under direct light. The exterior caseback engravings remain clear and legible, while the interior caseback retains the historic Seikosha crane logo engraving. Movement Inside the case beats the manual wind Seikosha Caliber 560, clearly engraved with 21 Jewels. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is paired with a black leather strap featuring white contrast stitching. It appears to be in lightly used condition. Condition Good vintage condition. The stainless steel case and smooth bezel show moderate scratches and scuffs from honest use, with visible wear to the lugs and the unsigned crown. The dial exhibits heavy patina, spotting, and staining, particularly on the lower half, alongside oxidized dauphine hands. The domed acrylic crystal has minor surface scratches, while the manual wind movement shows light oxidation and minor surface marks. Dimensions The case measures 34mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This Seiko Crown offers an excellent opportunity to acquire a historically significant 1960 reference with the distinct Seikosha crane logo engraving. Its heavily patinated dial provides unique visual character, while the Caliber 560 movement delivers outstanding timegrapher results. History The Seiko Crown was introduced in 1959 to succeed the Seiko Marvel as the brand's flagship high-end manual wind dress watch. The Caliber 560 was engineered with a larger mainspring barrel and an improved balance wheel to provide superior accuracy and stability. This movement architecture was highly successful and served as the direct mechanical foundation for the first Grand Seiko in 1960.
