Beautiful, gigantic XXXL (200/240/525 mm) shell of Syrinx aruanus, commonly known as the trumpet or hidden trumpet, is an exceptionally animal-like sea snail species. It is a mollusk—a marine snail—in the family Turbinellidae and a species of the genus Syrinx. The shell is normally a light brown color, but during life it is covered by a thick brown or gray periostracum. The color of the shell can fade to creamy yellow. The whole shell is spindle-shaped. The spire of the shell is tall. The siphonal canal is usually strong, and the keel can be used by knobs. The shell has a long siphonal canal. The columella has no folds, unlike other species in the same family. The shell has a hole, which is visible in the photos, but nevertheless it is a treasure for collectors due to its very large size. I highly recommend it to collectors and interior designers.
