Scuola Veneta (XVIII) - Paesaggio costiero animato con figure

Fascinating antique painting, oil on canvas dating to the 18th century, depicting a wide coastal (or lacustrine) landscape in motion. The work fully fits within the production of the Venetian Italian School of the 1700s, strongly influenced by the tastes for pastoral and popular scenes introduced in Italy by the Bamboccianti movement and by the Northern painters active in Venice. The canvas delicately depicts an Arcadian dirt road. The work is ascribable to the Italian School of the 18th century (18th century), influenced by the Arcadian and bucolic atmospheres typical of vedutismo and landscape painting of the era. The piece is presented enriched by a splendid period Louis XVI frame from the 1700s, gilded in mecca gold, which magnificently frames the canvas. And it is a gentle homage to the work. State of preservation: The painting has undergone an old conservative restoration with a backing (lining on the back) to stabilize the painted surface, and is mounted on a modern frame with tensioning slips. The surface shows craquelure appropriate to the period and some old in-paintings. The frame shows signs of wear, small losses of gilding and of preparation due to time, which confirm its authenticity and historical charm.
