Sculpture

Characterful bronze sculpture of a seated bulldog, executed with a dark, warm brown patina. The powerful stance, wrinkled head, sturdy legs, and richly detailed collar give the figure a tough and somewhat humorous appearance. The bulldog stands on a large, massive pedestal of beautifully red-brown veined marble. The natural veining of the marble forms a beautiful contrast with the dark bronze and gives the whole a particularly luxurious and monumental presentation. The statue is equipped with: * The cast-in name/marking “Bourcart” * A cast-in number * A round bronze quality medallion * A natural, nuanced patina A striking decorative object for a classical or modern interior, office, library, gallery or collection. Because of its powerful presence, this bulldog is a real eye-catcher and also an attractive object for dog lovers. Several copies of this model are available. This lot concerns one specimen. As the statue is produced via a casting process and marble is a natural product, the patina, marble veining and small finishing details may vary slightly from piece to piece. This gives each specimen its own character. Please examine the photos carefully to get a good impression of the object and its condition. Any slight irregularities or marks are part of the character of the bronze and the natural marble. Shipping and pickup The statue is packed with particular care and professionalism due to its weight and the combination of bronze and marble. The sculpture and the marble plinth are separately well protected against shocks and shifting. Shipping is carried out with tracking. Pickup is also possible by appointment.
