Impressive and highly detailed bronze sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte, depicted in his characteristic military stance with bicorne, long cloak, sabre and spyglass. The calm, self-assured pose with arms crossed gives the statue a monumental presence. Notably fine are the detailed rendering of the face, clothing, boots, cloak folds and military attributes. The dark brown-bronze patina is subtly lighter on the raised areas, which makes the details stand out nicely. The statue stands on a heavy black marble plinth, which forms a beautiful contrast with the warm bronze. On the bronze base there are several interesting features, including: * a handwritten signature in the bronze; * a circular foundry/bronze mark; * a separately applied number A6806. These markings have been photographed in detail and make the piece extra interesting for collectors.
