Santicri Mixed media Dimensions 75x50 cm The artwork is accompanied by a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity Unique piece This contemporary canvas stages a moment of tension in which the depicted figure seems to witness directly the transformation of her image. Her gaze directed upward and the uneasy expression suggest the perception of something happening beyond her control. The deformation of the canvas and the presence of the hammer make this transformation physical: the support is no longer just a surface on which to paint but becomes part of the event. The figure thus becomes a witness to her own transformation. She observes, reacts, and seems to question what is happening, creating a direct relationship between the character and the matter of the work. Witness therefore reflects on the moment in which an apparently immutable image is called into question. The deformation represents not only a destruction but the instant when something changes and takes on a new form. The shipment is insured.
