Santa Barbara, California. $5 1929 Ty. 2. Fr. 1800-2. The First National Trust & Savings Bank. Charter #2104. PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ. Issued by the long-lived First National Trust and Savings Bank of Santa Barbara (Charter# 2104) during the 1930s, this note does nonetheless offer bidders a fairly scarce opportunity to be had. Now this particular bank is not that scarce per the National Bank Note Census and could even be considered "common" overall as over 200 individual notes are recorded. Yet this finding warrants a major caveat as the overwhelming majority of survivors on this bank are evenly circulated and fail to come close to this note in technical terms making it a real outlier among its peers and something bound to capture the attention of those who collect National Bank Notes from California. Estimate: $600 - $800. Provenance: Ex. Eric Agnew Collection. Click here for certification details from PMG.
