Spring Tale is a famous portfolio of 10 color aquatints created in 1999 by the Italian master Sandro Chia, one of the leading exponents of Transavantgarde. Technique: Etching, original color aquatints Dimensions: Approximately 48 x 48 cm Support: Etna paper 400 g Printer: Tiperti Editions Edition: 100 copies in Arabic numerals, plus Roman numerals and artist's proofs, hand-signed by the artist on the front. The style of these prints reflects the expressive, chromatic language typical of Chia, in which vigorous forms and vibrant colors dialogue with the figurative tradition. Chia's work stands out for a strong return to figurative painting and drawing, in clear contrast with the conceptual art of the 1970s. Subjects: imposing, monumental, and often enigmatic human figures, immersed in vibrant landscapes. Color schemes: rich, vivid, thick colors laid on with an energetic and dynamic brushstroke. Influences: A continuous dialogue with the history of art, reinterpreting past masters such as Carrà, De Chirico, Picasso and the tradition of the Tuscan Renaissance.
