Anna Maia is a contemporary Swedish painter known for her strong inspiration from Japanese aesthetics and culture. Her work blends traditional Japanese influences —such as Japanese tattoo art (irezumi), floral motifs, animal figures and folklore elements— with a contemporary, decorative approach. She is especially known for her compositions with cats, a recurring motif in her work, where she mixes symbolism, elegance and a highly recognizable visual style. Her works are usually released in limited editions, signed and numbered, which reinforces their collectible nature. This piece is a limited edition, numbered giclée print, a high-quality technique highly valued in contemporary printmaking for its color fidelity and durability. The composition shows a black cat on a gold background with sakura flowers, a motif closely linked to Japanese culture, where the cherry blossom symbolizes ephemeral beauty and nature. The contrast between the black of the animal and the gold background adds elegance and makes the work especially decorative. Technique: High-quality giclée print Style: Oriental inspiration / decorative contemporary art
