Sagrasse (1966) - Escape

Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and chrome plating. The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern pop sculptures, vibrant and ironic. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one's most authentic talent. Title - Escape Resin - Hand-signed 2024 Technique: resin Measurements: 39x24x20 cm Condition: new. Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed. Edition: limited edition 299ex - red marble The work will be carefully packed and shipped with a courier service with tracking. In recent years his work has earned important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Notable among these are the presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Arte Venezia" in 2025, the collaboration with the Center for Art and Culture VERUM, and the inclusion of his works in the renowned Private Collection Fuser. From craftsman to a name in the Neo-Pop landscape, Sagrasse demonstrates how a lifetime of experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression. Sagrasse is not merely an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, bright, ironic, and irresistibly modern. Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly in the path of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident for the strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of everyday life or pop culture in a critical key, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, and Richard Orlinski. The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation. It is a handmade work, conceived and entirely made in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of entirely manual workmanship. It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean without using detergents, but only with a soft cloth.
