Sagrasse (1966) - Art Attack

Sagrasse (1966) - Art Attack

Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest level in resin processing, varnishing, and chrome plating. The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time transform into an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always guarded. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a language of contemporary art recognized internationally, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent. Title - Art attack Technique: resin Dimensions: 34x13x8 cm Condition: new Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed Edition: limited edition 499ex - red Message and interpretation: "Art Attack" celebrates one of the painter’s fundamental tools, the tube of paint, dedicating the work to it. The artist wanted to emphasize the importance of this simple instrument, essential for artistic creation, and pay homage to the creative process. The work underscores the idea that even everyday objects can be transformed into art and become symbols of expression and creativity. Context and inspiration: Created in a period of growing appreciation for artists’ work and the creative process, the piece reflects the importance of recognizing and valuing the tools that allow artists to express themselves. The choice to depict an open tube of paint symbolizes the start of the creative process and the infinite potential of artistic imagination. The work will be carefully packaged and shipped by courier with tracking. In recent years his work has earned important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Notable among these are the presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Arte Venezia" in 2025, collaboration with the VERUM Center of Art and Culture, and the inclusion of his works in the renowned Private Collection Fuser. From craftsman to signature of the Neo-Pop scene, Sagrasse shows how a lifetime’s experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression. Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from functional constraints, putting it at the service of the imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern. Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly in the trajectory of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the comparison to Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of everyday life or pop culture in a critical light, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants on the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, and Richard Orlinski. The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation. It is a handmade work, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of fully manual workmanship. It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean without detergents, but only with a soft cloth."
