The porcelain bears the characteristic distinctive elements of Royal Copenhagen, with the well-known mark of the three blue waves and the inscription “Eneret,” an indication used by the Danish manufactory and translatable as “exclusive right.” The depiction reproduces Raphael’s famous subject, the Madonna of the Chair, here reinterpreted in a decorative format by Royal Copenhagen.
