Ca. AD 100 - 300. A square mosaic panel decorated with a regular geometric arrangement of intersecting circles, forming a continuous pattern of four-petalled rosettes and pointed oval compartments. The overlapping circular bands are outlined in dark tesserae and filled with alternating shades of cream, ochre, reddish-brown and grey. Small diamond-shaped motifs, composed of contrasting tesserae, occupy the spaces between the principal circular elements, enhancing the symmetrical arrangement. The repeated pattern creates a visually intricate composition characterised by precise geometric divisions and balanced colour contrasts. The central decorative field is enclosed within a series of narrow rectangular borders in ochre, cream and darker tones.
