Ca. AD 80 - 119. A carnelian intaglio engraved with the draped and diademed bust of Salonia Matidia in profile to the right. Her hair is swept back beneath the diadem and gathered into a braided chignon at the nape. The oval gem is mounted in a hallmarked 18K gold ring, enclosed by a raised plain collet above angular shoulders and a slender hoop.
