Ca. AD 1 - 300 . A bronze hollow applique in the shape of a bust of Venus, her head turned to her right. The hair is arranged in thick wavy locks and gathered into a high knot. Broad folds of drapery cross the chest and are fastened at the right shoulder by a circular brooch. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1824,0490.5. Size: 70mm x 45mm; Weight: 100g Provenance: Private collection of a Cambridgeshire gentleman; formerly with Allison Barker, 1990s�2007.
