The reverse bears the artist’s handwritten studio and address label (“uli roesner · maler und grafiker / stuttgart 13 · grünblickstraße 2”), with the title “Die rote Maschine” handwritten in ink, together with the price indication “DM 900.–”. Also on the reverse is the printed label of the painting-board manufacturer “LUKAS / Schoenfeld” (type 630 strawboard, no. 22), as well as the handwritten numbering “II.” The expressive, industrially inspired composition depicts a red machine structure and crane installation within a space characterized by a constructivist aesthetic. In this work, Roesner combines a structured formal language with a richly layered, textured paint surface in subdued earth and green tones, from which the luminous red of the central motif emerges dynamically. Good original condition commensurate with age.
