Rockpile Beach 2 by Grace Diehl Painting 12.0 x 9.0 :: This is a painting done at Laguna. I've done many paintings here and it is always a new experience. This one at Rockpile Beach was no exception. There certainly are lot of rocks I guess thus the name. I had to keep telling myself to simplify because I knew if I got too caught up in little shapes too soon disaster would come. So I first focused on the big shapes. Then breaking them down afterward. Also I had to pay attention to show distance which was a little difficult because of the local color of some of the rocks.
