Ring - 18 kt. White gold - 1.71ct. tw. Diamond (Natural)

EXCEPTIONAL HANDCRAFTED 18 KT WHITE GOLD ROTATING RING WITH SAPPHIRES, EMERALDS, RUBIES AND DIAMONDS PERNA LABORATORIO ORAFO CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN ARTISAN PRODUCTION A distinctive contemporary ring handcrafted by Perna Laboratorio Orafo in Torre del Greco, Naples, Italy. The jewel is made in solid 18 kt white gold and is characterised by an elaborate sculptural construction combining a continuous channel of carré-cut coloured gemstones with two tapered, diamond-set white-gold elements. Its most distinctive feature is the independently rotating central gemstone band: the entire central section set with sapphires, emeralds and rubies can be manually turned within the surrounding white-gold structure. By rotating this central element, the wearer can position the blue sapphires, green emeralds or red rubies at the front of the ring, obtaining different chromatic configurations from the same jewel. The ring can therefore be worn with: • The sapphires predominantly facing forward • The emeralds predominantly facing forward • The rubies predominantly facing forward • Intermediate multicoloured combinations This functional rotating construction transforms the jewel according to the wearer’s preference, creating several visual interpretations without altering the ring itself. The mechanism is not merely decorative: it forms an integral part of the design and requires the separate assembly, adjustment and precise finishing of the rotating gemstone section within the external white-gold structure. This additional technical complexity enhances the artisanal character of the ring and makes it substantially different from a conventional fixed gemstone band. The result is a versatile and highly recognisable jewel that combines Italian goldsmith craftsmanship, architectural design, colour and movement. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ TECHNICAL DETAILS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Jewellery type: Rotating gemstone ring • Maker: Perna Laboratorio Orafo • Production: Contemporary Italian artisan production • Place of manufacture: Torre del Greco, Naples, Italy • Metal: 18 kt white gold • Gold fineness: 750/1000 • Hallmark: 750 • Hallmark position: Present on the mounting • Hallmark visibility: The hallmark is not visible in the current photographs due to its position on the mounting • Metal verification: Tested by acid reaction • Acid-test result: Reaction consistent with 18 kt gold • Gross total weight: 7.83 grams • Italian ring size: 17 • Approximate European size: 57 • Approximate internal circumference: 57 mm • Approximate internal diameter: 18.1 mm • Finish: Polished white gold • Total number of stones: 45 • Estimated total gemstone weight: approximately 1.71 ct The stated gross weight includes the metal and all mounted gemstones. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ROTATING GEMSTONE MECHANISM ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The coloured gemstones are set into a central rotating band incorporated within the main structure of the ring. This central gemstone section turns independently, allowing the wearer to select which group of coloured stones is displayed most prominently on the upper/front part of the finger. Depending on its position, the ring can present a predominantly: • Blue appearance through the sapphires • Green appearance through the emeralds • Red appearance through the rubies • Multicoloured appearance through intermediate positioning This makes the jewel visually adaptable and allows several wearing configurations within a single handcrafted ring. The mechanism should always be rotated gently and without forcing it. It is advisable to handle the rotating section through the surrounding metal wherever possible, avoiding unnecessary direct pressure on the gemstones. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SAPPHIRES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Quantity: 12 • Cut: Carré / square cut • Approximate dimensions: 2 × 2 mm each • Estimated weight per stone: approximately 0.054 ct • Estimated total sapphire weight: approximately 0.65 ct • Colour: Blue • Setting: Channel setting within the rotating central band ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ EMERALDS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Quantity: 10 • Cut: Carré / square cut • Approximate dimensions: 2 × 2 mm each • Estimated weight per stone: approximately 0.037 ct • Estimated total emerald weight: approximately 0.37 ct • Colour: Green • Setting: Channel setting within the rotating central band The emeralds display internal characteristics and natural-looking variations visible under magnification. These characteristics form part of their individual appearance and should not automatically be considered defects. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ RUBIES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Quantity: 11 • Cut: Carré / square cut • Approximate dimensions: 2 × 2 mm each • Estimated weight per stone: approximately 0.054 ct • Estimated total ruby weight: approximately 0.59 ct • Colour: Red to purplish red • Setting: Channel setting within the rotating central band ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ DIAMONDS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Quantity: 12 • Cut: Round cut • Approximate diameter: 1.30 mm each • Estimated weight per diamond: approximately 0.008 ct • Estimated total diamond weight: approximately 0.10 ct • Setting: Individually set within the two tapered white-gold sections Diamond colour and clarity are intentionally not stated, as the mounted stones are not accompanied by an independent gemological laboratory report determining these characteristics. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ESTIMATED GEMSTONE WEIGHTS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • 12 sapphires: approximately 0.65 ct • 10 emeralds: approximately 0.37 ct • 11 rubies: approximately 0.59 ct • 12 diamonds: approximately 0.10 ct TOTAL NUMBER OF STONES: 45 ESTIMATED TOTAL WEIGHT OF ALL STONES: APPROXIMATELY 1.71 CT The estimated gemstone weight corresponds to approximately 0.342 grams. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GEMOLOGICAL ESTIMATION METHOD ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The stones are mounted and have not been removed from the ring or weighed individually. Their carat weights have therefore been estimated using recognised dimensional gemological calculation principles based on: • The stated external dimensions • Assumed conventional cutting proportions • Estimated average stone depth • The specific gravity of each gemstone material • A volumetric correction factor appropriate to the respective cut For the carré-cut coloured gemstones, an average depth of approximately 1.30 mm has been considered. For the round diamonds, the estimate has been calculated from their approximate diameter and conventional round-cut proportions. The estimated individual and total weights are therefore approximate and may differ slightly from weights obtained by physically removing and weighing each stone. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GOLD VERIFICATION ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The ring bears the 750 hallmark on the mounting, although the hallmark is not visible in the current photographs. The metal has also been checked through an acid reaction test performed using standard goldsmith testing procedures. The observed reaction was consistent with 18 kt gold. The acid test represents a practical workshop verification of the metal’s response. It should not be interpreted as an independent assay certificate, XRF laboratory analysis or official third-party precious-metal report. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ARTISAN CRAFTSMANSHIP ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ This ring was created by Perna Laboratorio Orafo as an individually produced artisan jewel rather than as a conventional mass-market item. Its construction combines: • A substantial polished white-gold body • An independently rotating gemstone band • Three separate chromatic gemstone sections • Carré-cut stones individually arranged in sequence • Two sculptural diamond-set elements • Manual assembly, adjustment, setting and finishing The rotating construction introduces an additional level of technical difficulty because the gemstone band must remain integrated with the external structure while retaining its intended movement. The coloured stones form a continuous chromatic sequence around the ring, while the two tapered diamond-set sections cross the composition and create depth, movement and a distinctive three-dimensional profile. Small irregularities visible under strong magnification may be consistent with genuine manual setting, polishing and artisanal finishing. Such microscopic characteristics should not automatically be interpreted as structural defects. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CONDITION AND PHOTOGRAPHS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The photographs form an integral part of the description and should be examined carefully before bidding. Macro photography is used to document the construction, settings and gemstone details. Strong magnification may make small inclusions, surface characteristics, setting irregularities or polishing traces appear substantially larger than they are to the naked eye. Please refer to the stated weight, ring size and gemstone dimensions for an accurate understanding of the actual scale of the jewel. The colours of the gemstones and metal may vary slightly depending on: • Lighting conditions • Photographic exposure • Reflections from the surrounding environment • Screen calibration • Display settings No photograph should be interpreted as an independent gemological assessment. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ IMPORTANT GEMSTONE INFORMATION ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The gemstones have not been submitted to an independent gemological laboratory for determination of geographical origin or possible treatments. Gemstones are commonly treated within the international jewellery trade to improve colour or clarity. The presence or absence of any treatment has not been specifically determined for this ring. No claim is made regarding the geographical origin of the sapphires, emeralds or rubies. The diamonds have not been independently graded for colour or clarity. The stated gemstone weights are dimensional estimates and were not obtained by removing and directly weighing the stones. Any difference between the estimated and actual carat weight should be regarded as a normal consequence of estimating mounted gemstones. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PACKAGING AND SHIPPING ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Free shipping • Secure professional packaging • Fully tracked shipment • Elegant jewellery presentation box included • Perna Laboratorio Orafo guarantee/certificate included • Careful inspection before dispatch • Protective packaging suitable for international transport The ring will be carefully packed in order to protect both the polished surfaces and the rotating gemstone mechanism during transport.
