Richard Ginori - attribuito GIO PONTI - Coffee service (12) - Porcelain

Six cups with saucers by Richard Ginori, a service of extraordinary lightness and elegance, with a line that truly deserves attention. The cups have a wide, open shape, delicately rounded, gathered on a small base. The thin handles accompany the silhouette discreetly, while the saucers complete the set with harmonious proportions. Weighing almost nothing in the hands, they express a refinement that is appreciated both in use and on display. What makes the service special is the stylized botanical decoration, almost fantastical: forms that suggest flowers, leaves and small fans, reinterpreted with an original graphic stroke. The blue and pale blue meet green and orange-red in a lively, rhythmic sequence. A design with great personality, capable of giving movement to the porcelain without burdening the lightness of the shapes. The delicate gold rim underlines the edges and adorns the handles as well, adding a bright accent to the meeting of color and material. The cleanliness of the profiles and the balance between decoration and function evoke the taste of Italian ceramics of the 20th century, with an aesthetic affinity to Gio Ponti’s research: a stylistic reference, without attributing the model to the designer. The service includes 6 cups and 6 saucers, for a total of 12 pieces. Green Richard Ginori mark with three stars visible on the bottom of the photographed cup. They show light signs of time and wear of the gold trim, visible in the details, which accompany the vintage character of the service. A collection full of personality, capable of transforming the tea moment into a small ritual of beauty. A refined Christmas gift idea for those who love Richard Ginori, a well-cared-for table, and objects to choose also for the pleasure of holding them in the hands.
