Riccardo Tommaso Ferroni (1934-2000) - Senza titolo

The painting shown in the image is part of the artistic production of Master Riccardo Tommasi Ferroni (Pietrasanta 1934 – Pieve di Camaiore 2000), one of the most important exponents of neo-figurative painting and of Italian learned anachronism in the twentieth century. Characteristics of the work and the artist's style • Visionary composition: The work features spectral and enigmatic figures immersed in a dark, theatrical, and smoky atmosphere, typical of Tommasi Ferroni's magical realism and Baroque surrealism. • Painting technique: There is an extraordinary graphic virtuosity derived from the academic study of Renaissance, Mannerist, and Baroque art, combined with flowing drapery and a dramatic use of chiaroscuro (reminiscent of Caravaggio and the masters of the Seventeenth Century). • Themes: Frequent in his creations are allegories and cultivated references fused with grotesque or quirky elements drawn from modernity, evoking a strong sense of mystery and decay.
