Reversible Wild Side Quilted Kimono Jacket, Very Vollbracht

Reversible open front jacket, one side with a figural black and white cheetah and zebra graphic with red trim, and the other in full zebra pattern, both sides each with two slit pockets. Shoulder: 19 in.; Sleeve: 14.5 in.; Shoulder to hem: 29.5 in. Michael Vollbracht (1947-2018) was an American fashion designer and illustrator known for bold, graphic prints and loose, art-driven clothes. After studying at Parsons and working for Geoffrey Beene and Bill Blass, he launched his own label in the late 1970s, showing simple caftan‑ and kimono‑like pieces cut from large, hand-silk-screened Belotti silks. These fluid garments, often printed with oversized faces, animals, or abstract motifs, became some of his signature designs and are now among his most collectible work. Good estate condition.
