All auctions / Contemporary Art / Renato Bertelli (1900-1974) after - Profilo Continuo del Duce
This is a very rare reproduction of the famous 1933 masterpiece entitled "Profilo Continuo del Duce", conceived by the Italian artist Renato Bertelli (1900–1974), a prominent figure of Futurism, a movement deeply tied to the historical and cultural context of the era. At first glance it appears to be a classic bust, but this is precisely its extraordinary uniqueness: when observed closely, from any angle the unmistakable profile of Mussolini emerges with astonishing continuity, characterized by his pronounced jawline. Hence the title "Profilo continuo del Duce": a fascinating and conceptually innovative work in which the profile remains visible 360 degrees — from every side, without interruptions — making it a truly unique piece and difficult to find. The design, still considered extremely modern and avant-garde today, evokes the mechanical forms typical of the industrial era, in perfect harmony with the propagandistic image of the leader as a symbol of strength and control. It is precisely this fusion between art and ideology that helps make the work as rare as it is significant. This sculpture, unusual and sought-after, also represents the concept of the "omnipresent leader": a powerful and distinctive artistic vision. Art critic Marco Moretti described the work as: "a dynamic plasticity that, without rhetoric, expresses the metaphor of a vigilant and sleepless leader, capable of seeing and controlling everything." This precious resin reproduction, increasingly difficult to find on the market, stands out for its high quality: finished with an elegant black coating and mounted on a refined base in synthetic granite. The bust stands 15 cm tall and the base 3 cm. The total height is 18 cm, with a width and depth of 11 cm, for a total weight of 1.2 kg. The item is shipped immediately after purchase via trackable and insured service, carefully packed to ensure its integrity.
