All auctions / Ethnographic / RARE YELLOW SULFUR with FLUORESCENT and PHOSPHORESCENT ARAGONITE
From our selection of collectible minerals we present a rare group of Sulfur crystals with Aragonite from the Cozzodisi Mine, Casteltermini, Sicily. Also, it is characterized by crystals of intense yellow Sulfur, well-formed and lustrous, grown on a white Aragonite matrix, with fluorescent and phosphorescent properties that increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact. Native sulfur forms in sedimentary and evaporitic environments, often through the action of bacteria that reduce sulfates; the Agrigento mining basin, with mines like Cozzodisi, has been for over a century among the world's leading producers of sulfur, before the development of petroleum extraction methods. The characteristic yellow color of sulfur is an intrinsic property of the element, while the association with aragonite, a calcium carbonate, testifies to the complex chemistry of circulating fluids in these deposits. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, even in the realm of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for very rare exceptions always noted in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best highlight colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light. Shipping is carried out via reliable express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days in Europe), tracked and insured shipping and professional and safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews.
