The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Sodalite Dial Ref. 116509 is an exceptionally rare and highly collectible interpretation of Rolex’s iconic racing chronograph, distinguished by its natural sodalite dial and solid 18K white-gold construction. Its 40 mm Oyster case is crafted from 18K white gold and features a fixed 18K white-gold bezel engraved with a tachymetric scale. The vivid blue sodalite dial displays unique natural white veining, making every example visually distinctive. Eight brilliant-cut diamond hour markers add a refined touch, while the matching 18K white-gold Oyster bracelet completes the design. The watch is powered by the automatic Rolex Caliber 4130, providing approximately 72 hours of power reserve. Its chronograph mechanism includes a central seconds hand, 30-minute counter, and 12-hour counter, while the tachymetric scale allows the wearer to measure average speed over a known distance. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the screw-down crown, chronograph pushers, and Oyster case provide water resistance to 100 meters. The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 116509 with its rare sodalite dial represents an extraordinary combination of precious materials, motorsport heritage, and exceptional collectability.
