RARE EGYPTIAN GOLD AND FAIENCE PECTORAL NECKLACE

ew Kingdom, ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A broad pectoral necklace composed of polychrome faience and gold beads. The central section is arranged in radiating strands of elongated tubes, divided by rows of small discs. Along the lower edge hangs a fringe of gold pendants interspersed with faience elements. Above, it narrows to a single strand of alternating tubular and disc beads terminating in a gold hook-and-loop fastening. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number EA24312, 22.1.247.
