Shoowa-Kuba raffia fabric from the Democratic Republic of the Congo Woven raffia fabric of the Shoowa-Kuba people, originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Renowned for their remarkable textile tradition, Shoowa-Kuba artisans create fabrics with complex geometric patterns, entirely woven and hand-embroidered from raffia fibers. Used during ceremonies, prestigious exchanges, and as a marker of social distinction, these creations bear witness to an ancestral know-how where every composition reflects the artistic and cultural identity of the Kuba kingdom. The natural texture of raffia, the richness of the motifs, and the nuances of patina emphasize the antique character of this piece and enhance its appeal to African art enthusiasts. With its refined graphic design and timeless aesthetic, this fabric integrates perfectly into a contemporary interior, where it can be displayed as a wall artwork or decorative piece, bringing an elegant and distinctive artistic touch.
