An impressive natural pyrite crystal cluster (probably from Peru), weighing an extraordinary 3.288 kg, featuring a spectacular formation of large, intergrown cubic crystals with brilliant metallic lustre. What makes this substantial specimen particularly attractive is its remarkable crystal formation. Large, geometrically defined cubes rise above countless smaller crystals, creating a fascinating natural architecture with exceptional depth and texture. The pronounced natural striations across the crystal faces beautifully reflect the light, revealing a rich variety of golden, bronze and silvery metallic tones. The contrasting white mineral formations along the base further enhance its visual appeal. With its generous dimensions and striking appearance, this magnificent mineral formation makes an impressive decorative statement and a fascinating addition to any mineral collection. Mineral: Natural Pyrite Origin: unknown but probably Peru Formation: Intergrown cubic crystals with pronounced natural striations Dimensions: 17 × 15 × 12 cm Weight: 3,288 g Colour: Metallic gold with bronze and silvery reflections Condition and Previous Restoration IMPORTANT: This specimen was acquired in its present condition and has undergone previous restoration. Several substantial fractures are present, predominantly on the reverse side. A transparent, silicone-like adhesive appears to have been applied inside the cracks to hold the fractured sections together. When displayed in the position illustrated in the photographs, the specimen remains together, presenting itself as one impressive crystal formation. However, the specimen is structurally fragile. Turning it over or handling it incorrectly may cause individual sections to detach. Certain crystals also show visible fractures and imperfections. The existing restoration has been left untouched. Detailed photographs of the fractures and previous repairs are included to provide complete transparency regarding its condition. Packaging and Shipping: Given the substantial weight and delicate structure of this specimen, special attention will be paid to packaging. The mineral will be carefully secured using appropriate protective materials, with additional support for the previously repaired sections to minimise movement and the risk of damage during transportation. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
