Pyrite is a very common mineral composed of iron sulfide, like marcasite, which takes its name from the Greek term πῦρ pyr (fire) because it produces sparks if struck with a piece of metal. Because of its golden color, it was once known as fool's gold; when heated in a flame it emits a mixture of sulfur compounds with the classic odor of rotten eggs. It is commonly found in crystal form in various shapes. Beautiful Pyrite, from Rio Marina, Elba Island, Tuscany, Italy. Measurements: 6x4x3 cm Weight: 130 g Shipped via express courier (tracking)
